Why "The Magnitude"?
The name "Mag-nitude" captures the essence of my blog in many ways. The word 'magnitude' is defined as great size or importance. My blog, focused on discussing current trends and issue that are affecting large amounts of people--whether that be children, disabled, elderly, homeless, veterans or just society in general. Plus, the signature of my blog posts are homemade "mag"azine collages, which speak to particular trends or issues discussed in each posting.
What's up with the magazine collages?
I'm not artistically inclined, to say the least, but one thing I have always loved to do is collage. It doesn't involve me drawing (which trust me be thankful I am not featuring anything I draw) and I like going threw old magazines, cutting bits and pieces and making them into something. Collaging the issue allows me to discuss and sum up the issue without words.
